The Firm
The owner and managing director of the firm, Johan Martin, was admitted as an attorney in 2004.
MDB Inc. sets itself apart from its competitors through its extensive network of professionals serving its clients in all aspects of their business.

MDB Inc. understands that the law needs to be accessible and practically relevant to our clients’ interests and as such we aim to grow along with our clients by creating the capacity required for each and every client.
Our slogan Nostra Prima translates from Latin to mean “our own first”. We thereby assure each client that their interests are paramount under all circumstances.

Johan Martin
Owner
Johan Martin:
Johan was a member of the South African Police Services for 22 years during which time he completed his BA (Pol) and LL.B degrees through the University of South Africa.
In 2002 Johan left the SAPS with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel as Commander of the Murder and Robbery Unit and began serving his articles as candidate attorney.
In May 2004 Johan was admitted as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa where after he opened his own practice under the name and style of Johan Martin Attorneys.
In 2007 Johan Martin Attorneys welcomed Pierre Visser to its ranks and became known as Martin & Visser Incorporated.
In 2017 Johan joined forces with Stefan de Beer and the firm became known as Martin & De Beer Inc. Since then, Stefan has left the company for greener pastures.
Johan started Legally Armed, a franchise specialising in the administration and legal aspects of the Firearms Control Act, which he sold after 18 years.
He is married to Siska, a freelance journalist, and they have a daughter, Anja.
Johan specializes in matters relating to the Firearms Control Act, Act 60 of 2000, Insurance Law and Third Party cases.
